Wanted! Training Site Co-Hosts!

Ron Smith & Associates, Inc., on behalf of the International Association for Identification, is actively seeking governmental agencies or I.A.I. Divisions who are interested in bringing nationally or internationally known forensic instructors into their area/country to conduct training seminars. This is a wonderful opportunity for agencies or organizations, to enable their own employees or members to attend the finest training seminars available, without the added expense of long-distance travel, lodging and time. If you are interested in bringing a particular seminar into your area/country, there are several items which you should carefully consider. These items will be brought to your attention by R.S. & A., Inc. during the initial discussions; therefore, it would be better to have the answers to these questions ready on the front end of the discussion. They include:

  1. How many students in your commuting area would be genuinely interested in attending this particular seminar?

  2. How many employee / students from your own agency / organization would you be willing to guarantee?

  3. What type of training facility could your agency / organization provide?

  4. What types of audio-visual equipment would your agency / organization be willing to provide?

  5. Is there lodging at your training facility and, if so, what is the daily cost to the student?

  6. If lodging is not available on site at the training facility, is there a good hotel or motel nearby and, if so, what would be the name of the hotel and approximate government room rate?

  7. Would your agency / organization be willing to provide for, or at least coordinate, morning and afternoon refreshments?

  8. Would your agency / organization be able to assist with on site student check in on the 1st day of the seminar?

  9. Would your agency / organization be willing to assign one of your staff members attending the seminar to assist the guest instructor with any needs which might develop during the seminar?

  10. How far is your training facility from the nearest major commercial airport?

  11. Is there a lunchroom, cafeteria or restaurant in the training facility?

  12. If not, are there restaurants near the training facility?

  13. Are there restaurants within walking distance of the hotel?

These questions will come up during the initial conversations with the staff members of RS & A, Inc., and once they have been answered, then the topic of free slots in the seminar will be discussed. The number of free slots in each seminar is based upon the level of effort offered by the co-hosting agency / organization and the total number of student slots which are available in the class. These numbers change depending upon the seminar and are negotiated on an individual basis with the co-hosting agency / organization. Of course, the greatest benefit for the co-hosting agency / organization is that they are having the seminar brought to them instead of having to send a much reduced number of employees / members to a distant or expensive seminar location.

Seminars that are being co-hosted by an agency / organization within the United States involve advanced advertisement to interested agencies through websites, publications, and multiple printed announcements. This advertising is the responsibility of R.S. & A. Inc., the IAI, and the co-hosting agency / organization.

For those agencies / organizations outside of the United States, the seminar would need to be purchased on a “flat rate” plan by the agency / organization and would not require printed international postal advertisements from R.S. & A. Inc. or the IAI. Advertising on applicable websites and in the JFI would be available for seminars being hosted outside the United States.

If your agency / organization is seriously interested in co-hosting one or more seminars in the future then you should take a look at the “Training Opportunities” page on this website or contact us at training@ronsmithandassociates.com to find out what seminars are currently available for co-hosting or purchase. If you find a training seminar that fits your needs then contact us at your convenience to begin the process. We look forward to hearing from you soon!
