IAI Latent Print Certification Test Preparation Training

Course Description

This is the ONLY seminar which has been fully reviewed and approved by the IAI Latent Print Certification Board and will serve as a measure of your readiness to take the actual test.

Have you been thinking about taking the International Association for Identification (IAI) Latent Print Certification Examination but are not sure if you are ready? Does you agency require you to be certified within a certain timeframe and that time is approaching? Or, do you wish to achieve the high personal goal of attaining official recognition by the world’s largest and oldest forensic organization as a Certified Latent Print Examiner? If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, then this is the course for you. After numerous requests and years of planning, this course has been developed and is now offered to you. This class will consist of “timed drills” so that the student can learn how to work in a “timed” environment and to assist them in evaluating their strengths and weaknesses in the various areas of the friction ridge science which will be represented on the actual test. Near the end of the week the student will take an 8 hour practice examination representative of the actual IAI certification test, including written questions, pattern interpretations and latent print comparisons.
After the practice examination has been scored and reviewed by the instructors, a general critique of the class results will be conducted and a personal evaluation of the student’s strengths and weaknesses will be provided in preparation for the actual test.

Students will receive instructions on:

  • Review of “Searching Smart” skills
  • Review of “Palm Print Orientation/Location
  • Drills for speed
  • Overview of IAI Latent Print Certification Program
  • Review of historical data as it relates to fingerprints
  • Mock IAI Certification Exam

. . .  I found your comparison test to be in line with the actual test (of course the pressure of the actual testing made that one seem harder), the classification section was spot on, and without your pretest on the written part and direction on areas to study it would have been very hard to pass that part, experience does not help out with history questions even when you have lived and worked through almost 50 years of it.
