File Conversion Services

Because of the dramatic increase in purchases of the AFIX Tracker local AFIS system, manufactured by AFIX Technologies, Inc., it has become necessary for a full time file conversion center to be established.  Ron Smith & Associates, Inc. has become the sole external provider of fingerprint and palm print conversions for agencies which have needs for any size file conversions. 

 It is vital that the file conversion and minutia extraction process be managed by a fully trained latent print examiner who can insure that the maximum potential of the known records prints are being recorded into the automated system.  Ron Smith & Associates, Inc. has three full time I.A.I. Certified Latent Print Examiners on staff at the conversion center located in Collinsville, Mississippi.  At this conversion center, specially trained data management specialists complete both fingerprint and palm print card scanning and minutia extraction along with biographical data entry.  This work is supervised and reviewed by one or more of the certified examiners prior to the conversion project being completed and the files and electronic data being returned to the purchasing agency.  Since all new users of the AFIX Tracker local AFIS system are provided the first 500 fingerprint card or palm prints converted as part of the purchase price, many agencies decide to seize the opportunity and get additional cards converted at the same time.  This option is chosen so they can make a more dramatic and immediate impact on criminal investigations instead of waiting to find the time to build the database themselves.  A larger database enables them to begin launching latent print searches immediately with a much higher level of success. 

 If you are interested in getting more than the initial 500 cards converted at the time of purchase, then it is preferred (but not required) that you include this additional conversion request in your initial Purchase Order. 

 The following rates apply for all conversions in excess of the first 500, which are included in the initial system purchase price:
