This is an accelerated training program that will provide each examiner with the instruction and tools necessary to be ready for supervised casework.  However, it will be dependent on each agency as to when you are allowed to start supervised casework.

There will be a full-time requirement to the training program when off-site.  Assignments will be given prior to the start of the academy and between training segments.  Completion of assignments are mandatory before showing up or returning to class.

Although there will be time spent on preparing for the IAI Footwear Certification test, it should be understood that each examiner must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in order to be eligible for footwear certification.
Scheduled for June 5, 2017 thru August 25, 2017

See Footwear Academy Schedule for complete details.

Where are you going to find fully trained Footwear & Tire Track Examiners to fill your future vacancies?
There are always more vacant positions than there are qualified Footwear & Tire Track Examiners to fill them.

Are you willing to invest the time needed for your senior staff members to apprentice new examiners to the point where they can contribute to case production? If so, what’s the REAL cost of this approach, and will you then find yourself in a continual training mode?

We understand your staffing needs and we believe there is a better way. RS&A is launching a National Footwear & Tire Track Examiner Training Academy program which is scheduled to begin June 5, 2017. This is a carefully designed training program which will produce a Footwear or Tire Track Examiner who can immediately make a substantial impact on your operation.

Students will be required to meet stringent educational and ethical standards to be accepted into the program. Throughout the academy they will be routinely tested to ensure their competence in each module of instruction. They will be ready for supervised casework as soon as they arrive at your agency and will have already met or exceeded all requirements for IAI Footwear certification, with the exception of work experience. They will have already taken practice tests even more difficult than the actual IAI CFWE examination.

RS&A is internationally known as the premier forensic identification training company, and we have successfully trained literally hundreds upon hundreds of examiners to competency through the efforts or our cadre of world class instructors. Although this is the first such academy of its scale in the United States, it is simply a reconfiguring of what we have been doing for years.

The academy will be held at the campus of the Southern Regional Public Safety Institute, which is located on the grounds of Camp Shelby, a state owned and operated Joint Forces Training Facility for military personnel and law enforcement. Camp Shelby is just outside Hattiesburg, MS and is just one hour north of the beautiful Mississippi Gulf Coast.

Students will be housed on base in one person hotel rooms with access to internet, cable TV, housekeeping services, pool facilities in the summer months, fitness center, laundry facilities, tennis, camping, fishing, etc. along with three hot meals per day. The housing, meals and access to most all base facilities are included in the academy tuition. Transportation for each student is highly recommended and is the sole responsibility of the student or sponsoring agency.

The per student cost for the complete 6 week National Footwear & Tire Track Examiner Training Academy, to include all instruction, lodging and meals is $11,250.00. You have the option for a 4 week footwear only tarining program for $7,500.00 OR a 2 week tire track only training program for $3750.00. No matter your choice, the cost is far less than what it would cost your agency to complete this training utilizing your own case working analysts. Not only do you have their training completed in a fraction of the time, but they are getting access to a team of instructors who are highly skilled and fully committed to the success of your employee. Please contact us if you have specific budget requirements or need a breakdown of training tuition, room and board, and meals.

The Future is Bright! It is anticipated that there will be additional sessions as the academy as interest grows and is dependent on academy demand. We have the facilities and instructors to accommodate the training needs of the forensic industry.
