Why
Should I Take This Course?
This
course was developed for the bloodstain pattern expert to advance their
skills in the identification and reconstruction of bloodstain patterns
at the crime scene, on articles of clothing and items of physical
evidence recovered from a violent crime scene. The latest research and
application of bloodstain evidence will also be a topic for discussion.
The
student will also be exposed to mock bloodstain crime scenes, report
writing and utilization of automation animation and mannequins for court
room demonstrative evidence and participate in a moot court, utilizing
there knowledge, skills, and abilities as the bloodstain expert.
Who
Should Take This Course?
This
comprehensive, 40 - hour course is designed for the student who has
previously attended a forty hour introductory bloodstain pattern
identification workshop. This includes the proper documentation of
bloodstains and the identification of the physical characteristics of
the bloodstain patterns created at violent crime scenes where bloodshed
occurs.
All
students are required to have had this previously training prior to
attending this training course. Documentation of the previously
attended training classes (s) must be submitted with the application of
this course.
What Should I Bring To This Course?
Please
bring a scientific calculator, protractor, magnifying glass, computer
software for calculations of bloodstains (if you currently utilize one),
a digital or 35mm camera with macro capabilities are preferred, tripod
and laptops would be helpful. Casual clothing is desired for the week,
jeans and T-shirts for Monday through Thursday, due to the
workshop crime scene processing. On Friday each workshop
attendee will participate as an expert witness in a moot court setting.
Please bring clothing suitable for court appearances for that day only.
After Training Hours
Please
bring that special case that you would like a second opinion on, or
would like to present to the class for peer review. We will make time
for those who want to participate to review those special cases during
our training week.
